Disney World ending its Express Bus Transportation this August

Disney World is shutting down its Express Transportation bus service with the last day of operation on Aug. 24, 2017, after about a six-month trial period.

The final day to purchase a ticket is Aug. 16.

In an attempt to give park hoppers a faster way between parks, and charge them for it, Disney created the service on Dec. 7, 2016 that allowed people to go from park to park directly without again having to go through security and with the ability to leave from within the park and enter inside another park.

The service operates from 10 a.m. to park close running every 30 minutes at cost of $19 a day or $29 for a 7-day ticket.

It seems there were not a lot of takers for the service. Instead, Disney has launched Minnie Vans. Disney is working with the Left app and for $20, Disney cast members will drive the vans, decked out like Minnie Mouse, to where you want on the Walt Disney World Resort, from another point on the resort.
