Ravensburger, Disney create world's largest puzzle

If you want to give the latest Disney puzzle from Ravensburger a try, you might want to do it before you have any furniture in your house.

That's because when it's fully assembled it will measure more than 6 feet tall and 22 feet long — almost the size of a Jungle Cruise boat.

With 40,320 pieces, it's the largest puzzle ever commercially produced. It also may have a record-breaking price tag, with a list price of nearly $600. (You can find it on Amazon for closer to $400.)

Of course, 22 feet is longer than the average living room. It is also:
  • Taller than the adult giraffes you see wandering around Animal Kingdom’s savannah. They grow to be about 20 feet tall.
  • More than one-third as tales Space Mountain, which measures 60 feet).
  • About one-third as tall as Sleeping Beauty’s castle at Disneyland, which measures 77 feet. (The puzzle doesn't really measure up to the Magic Kingdom's castle, which is 183 feet tall.)
  • Almost as high as the drop in the Frozen Ever After ride at Epcot (28 feet).
  • Less than half the height of the drop in Splash Mountain (52 feet).

The puzzle itself is a patchwork of 10 hand-drawn scenes from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi, Cinderella, Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King. Each scene includes the film's year of release — and a hidden Mickey.

Don’t have room for a puzzle that will be 22’3” long and 6’2” high when it’s done? You also can choose from a number of Disney and Pixar themed puzzles with 100 to 1,000 pieces.
