“It’s been an amazing experience to work with the team at Pixar once again for this new game for the beloved Cars franchise,” John Blackburn, vice president and studio head, Avalanche Software, said in a news release.
The Cars 3: Driven to Win storyline takes players through a high-speed competition. According to the company, the players will be able to join Lightning McQueen and Cruz Ramirez as they prepare to take on rival racer Jackson Storm.
The game features more than 20 customizable playable characters. Players will also be able to select from over 20 tracks from across 13 different locations.
The "Cars 3" film is due in theaters June 16.
