4 new rides and shows opening in May 2017 at Disney World

May is a busy month at Disney World with the opening of major attractions at Animal Kingdom, a new fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom and a new concert series at Hollywood Studios.

Here's a quick look at what's coming in May:

Magic Kingdom
On May 12, a new fireworks show debuts behind the Cinderella Castle.  The 18-minute spectacle is called  “Happily Ever After” with projections on the castle featuring moments from  “The Little Mermaid” and “Aladdin,” as well as modern blockbusters “Moana” and “Zootopia.”

Hollywood Studios
A new limited-time concert event debuts May 26. “The Music of Pixar LIVE! A Symphony of Characters” showcases  music from Pixar Animation Studios films, with appearances by beloved Disney-Pixar characters. A live orchestra provides the soundtrack for this 40-minute concert that will be presented three times nightly at Theater of the Stars.

Animal Kingdom
A new land is opening in Animal Kingdom on May 27, 2017 giving guests a view of James Cameron's Pandora from Avatar.

Pandora – The World of Avatar will have two big rides, Avatar Flight of Passage sends guests flying above the jungle on a Mountain Banshee. The Na’vi River Journey, is a family-friendly boat ride that sails down a sacred river hidden within a glowing rainforest.

There are two new places to eat in Pandora, the Satu’li Canteen, the main dining location and  Pongu Pongu, a drink kiosk. Wind traders is the shopping area for the land.
