Walt Disney Animation releasing sing-along version of 'Moana'

"You're Welcome."


Walt Disney Animation Studios will be releasing a sing-along version of the hit film "Moana."

The film will be released nationwide Jan. 27, 2017 to about 2,000 theaters. It will first premiere Jan. 20, 2017 at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.

The film features songs from Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Mancina from Tarzan and Beauty and the Beast stage show, and Opetaia Foa‘i, founder and lead singer of the music band Te Vaka.

The Moana soundtrack has now reached No. 2 on the BillBoard 200 list. The album has been on the charts for six weeks.

Moana is the fourth biggest non-Pixar Disney animated movie, grossing $225 million domestically. It is the 35th highest grossing movie released by Disney, which includes Pixar, Marvel and the Star Wars franchise, according to BoxOfficemojo.com.
