Disney World will stop renting out high-priced cabanas in the Magic Kingdom

Disney World will stop renting private, shaded cabanas in the Magic Kingdom next month, after a three-month test period, the Orlando Sentinel is reporting.

The cabanas are located near Space Mountain. Daily rentals started at $691 a day with tax. Included in the cabanas, which holds eight people, are charging stations, local storage areas, sunscreen, insect repellent, water soft drinks and food.
This was the latest in the numerous upsell experiences Disney has been offering. These experiences include, special dessert parties, VIP tours, dining packages, special ticket events, and even special ticket events with dessert parties.

The cabanas will no longer be available after Feb. 17.

A Disney spokeswoman told the Sentinel the cabanas were just planned as a test run through mid-February.
