Disney World unveils MagicBand 2

Disney World has unveiled the MagicBand 2.

The MagicBand, which can be used as a theme park ticket, allows guests to access FastPass+ selections, serve as the Disney PhotoPass card and a room key for those staying at a Disney Resort, is getting an upgrade and will become more versatile, according to the Disney Parks Blog.

Currently, everything is connected to the band itself. The new version actually has the technology in a removal fob (similar to electronic card keys). So the small fob can remain attached to the band, or can be taken out and placed on a keychain or other items, we are sure Disney will be selling as an accessories.

Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek made the announcement of the new MagicBand during D23’s Destination D: Amazing Adventures at Disney World.

No date has yet been set on when MagicBand 2 will be released at the resort.
