Disney will be using drones for a new show that will debut at Disney Springs this holiday season

Disney World is planing to introduce its first use of drones for entertainment at Disney Springs.

According to a video released by Disney, the drones will be used as part of a “Wishing upon a Star” holiday experience.

The video shows numerous drones in the night sky circling.

Disney received special exemptions from the FAA to fly multiple drones at night. According to the Federal Aviation Administration approval notice, this of waiver is effective from Nov. 1, 2016 to Nov. 30, 2020.

Disney's original application sought to approval from the FAA to fly up to 50 drones at a time .
