Disney iMessage stickers now available for iOS 10

Disney
The latest iOS update for iPhones includes some fancy new functionality for iMessage — think emojis on steroids — and Disney is not going to be left behind.

iMessage stickers can be sent on their own or placed over pictures — or even video. You can size and rotate the sticker to make it fit the picture.

(Confused? MacRumors has some very clear instructions for how to use stickers in iMessage.)

Disney is starting out selling 11 different sticker packs, each including 21 stickers, for $1.99 each. The company promises to introduce new packs throughout the year.

iMessage stickers — many of which are animated — are an awful lot of fun. You can put a Rebel Alliance helmet on your cat or Sadness's glasses (complete with tears) on your selfie. Tell your honey "I love you" — and get an "I know" in return.

The downsize: How many times do you want to use the same sticker in your messages? Will you really get your money's worth? (But then again, they're only $1.99 each ...)

For the moment, the Disney sticker packs include these franchises and characters:
  • Mickey & Friends
  • Princess
  • Finding Dory
  • Frozen
  • The Lion King
  • Cats and Dogs
  • Stitch
  • Zootopia
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Inside Out
  • Star Wars Stickers
