What time and channel is 'The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60' show on ABC

A television special focusing on Disneyland's 60th anniversary will air Feb. 21, 2016 from 8 to 10 p.m. EST on ABC.

Derek Hough will act as the master of ceremonies for “The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60."

The show includes a myriad of stars, such as: Jessica Alba, Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Sabrina Carpenter, Sofia Carson, Priyanka Chopra, Viola Davis, Hilary Duff, Ginnifer Goodwin, Nolan Gould, Neil Patrick Harris, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sarah Hyland, Jimmy Kimmel, Dame Helen Mirren, Lupita Nyong’o, Pink, Alfonso Ribeiro, John Stamos, Eric Stonestreet, Kiefer Sutherland, Kerry Washington, Ariel Winter and Zendaya.

Some of the special events ti talk place include Elton John performing “Circle of Life,” from “The Lion King,” and his new song “Wonderful Crazy Night,” from his upcoming album in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland.

In addition Harrison Ford is supposed to give an exclusive preview of the new Star Wars themed lands.

The Disneyland 60th celebration kicked off May 22, 2015 at Disneyland with special shows created for the anniversary, including the “Paint the Night” parade, the “Disneyland Forever” fireworks show and the “World of Color – Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney.”

The Diamond Celebration will go through the summer of 2016 and finish on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5, 2016.

Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955. The $17 million theme park was built on 160 acres of former orange groves in Anaheim, California.

Disneyland was a natural progression from the movie studio he created. Disney always wanted a place where parents could bring their children. The park was supposed to be built on a plot of land across the street from the studio, but plans grew much larger and Disney then went searching for a larger location.
