Princess Leia to appear on "Star Wars Rebels" Jan. 20

We can't get enough of Leia Organa — princess or general, live-action or animated. So we were delighted to hear she'll be making a stop on Lothal for an episode of "Star Wars Rebels" later this month.

Leia is the latest fan favorite to show up on "Rebels," following in the footsteps of Darth Vader, Yoda, R2-D2 and C3PO.

The Leia we meet in "Rebels" — which is set before the original "Star Wars" — is technically still part of the Empire.

"She doesn’t believe in the Empire, but she is acting the part, almost as a double agent,” executive producer Dave Filioni said in a statement. “The Empire sees her as a privileged princess who runs mercy missions to wayward worlds, but in truth she is much stronger and more dangerous than they imagine.”

This will be Leia's only appearance on "Rebels" this season. The episode airs Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 9 p.m. on Disney XD. Here's a first look at "A Princess in Lothal:"
