Meet Disney animators online this Thursday

Ever wanted to be Disney animator, or just hang out with one? Now's your chance.

The "Elsa's Snow" workshop in the Disney Animated app
lets you create your own snow effects.
Disney is hosting an online hangout with four of its animators Thursday evening from 6-7 PST (9-10 EST). Animators Dave Bossert, John Musker, Jeff Ranjo and Hyun Min Lee will demo and discuss the Disney Animated app, which was named Apple iPad App of the year for 2013.

The app lets you explore all 53 Disney Animation feature films. The latest update to the app provides an in-depth look at the making of "Frozen," including concept art, character sketches and test animation.

Bossert, who is the head of Special Projects at Disney Animation Studios, has worked on a number of Disney classics, including "The Little Mermaid," "Beauty and the Beast," "Lion King," "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and "Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas." Musker co-wrote and co-directed "The Little Mermaid" and is currently working on a new feature with his frequent collaborator Ron Clements; the title and plot of that feature are under wraps.

You can tune in to the event, streaming live from CalArts, at google.com/+Disney. You can ask questions during the hangout via social media using #DisneyAnimated.
