Comcast planning to expand theme park business in competition against Disney

Comcast, which operates Universal Parks & Resorts, plans to expand its theme park business in an attempt to take share away from Disney.

Universal Orlando plans to open Cabana Bay Beach Resort, its fourth hotel, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

"We're doubling down on theme parks," Comcast Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Brian Roberts told analysts during a conference in Las Vegas that was broadcast online

The 1,800-room hotel is scheduled to open March 21, 2014. The new hotel has as the classic, retro-feel of iconic beach resorts from the 1950s and 60’s
